Edward Elgar

1857–1934

À propos de Edward Elgar

Edward Elgar was the composer who gave England a national musical voice after a long fallow period. His Pomp and Circumstance March, known with words as Land of Hope and Glory, became an unofficial anthem, while the Enigma Variations, especially Nimrod, reach a depth of feeling few works match. He restored England to the front rank of classical music.
