Demjén Ferenc, known to a generation simply as Rózsi, spent the 1970s as singer and bassist for the prog-rock band Bergendy and then built a forty-year solo career that ran from socialist-era schlager into stadium pop. "Honfoglalás", commissioned for the István Szabó film of the same name in 1996, became an unofficial national anthem; "Szerelemvonat" and "Jégszív" are radio standards. He performed his Raktárkoncert in the locked-down Budapest of 2020 and toured the country well into his 70s.
