À propos de Chalermphol Malakham

Chalermphol Malakham, often billed as the King of Mor Lam, brought the Isan folk-rap tradition onto national Thai radio in the 1980s. Born in Roi Et, he trained in the rapid declamatory style of village-festival mor lam before recording the touring-troupe hits that defined his commercial run. His best-known recordings combine traditional khaen ensemble work with the polished arrangements of the Bangkok luk thung industry. He continues to record into the 2010s and remains the most-cited reference point for younger Isan singers like Ying Lee Srijumpol and Lamyai Haithongkham.
