À propos de Baaba Maal

Pulaar singer from Podor in northern Senegal whose work moves between traditional Fulfulde griot music and large-scale electronic productions. He recorded his early acoustic masterpiece Djam Leelii with Mansour Seck in the 1980s, broke through internationally with Firin' in Fouta in 1994, and reached new global audiences in 2018 by co-writing Wakanda's anthem with Ludwig Göransson for the Black Panther soundtrack. He is one of the few Senegalese artists to have built a major international career outside the mbalax mainstream.
