À propos de Abdel Halim Hafez

Abdel Halim Hafez was the most beloved male singer of Egypt's golden age, known as al-Andaleeb al-Asmar, the Dark Nightingale. A matinee idol as well as a singer, he starred in numerous films and gave voice to the romantic optimism of the Nasser era. His emotional delivery and vast orchestral ballads made him a heartthrob across the Arab world. He died young in 1977, and his songs remain radio staples.
