Venezuelan-descended Christmas music sung in Spanish by Trinidadians who mostly do not speak it, performed house to house through December with cuatro, mandolin and box bass. Daisy Voisin was its defining voice. It is the clearest surviving trace of Trinidad's Spanish colonial period and remains a seasonal fixture rather than a year-round style.
