Son of Ali Farka Touré who took up the guitar against his father's wishes and built a career carrying the Songhai blues lineage forward into the streaming era. Performed at the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, and his 2022 collaboration album Ali with Khruangbin made the desert-blues vocabulary legible to a new generation of listeners outside Mali.
