Über Touré Kunda
Brothers from Casamance who emigrated to Paris in the late 1970s and built one of the first West African groups to fill European concert halls. Their fusion of Mandinka and Diola rhythms with reggae, funk, and rock made them a defining live act of 1980s world music and pioneers for the Senegalese diaspora's musical reach into France. They have continued recording into the 2020s, still working from the Casamance traditions they grew up in.
