Über Tlahoun Gèssèssè
Tlahoun Gèssèssè was known simply as the voice of Ethiopia, the most cherished singer of the golden age. A star of the Imperial Bodyguard and Police orchestras, he brought operatic power and deep feeling to patriotic anthems and aching love songs alike. Adored across generations, his 2009 death prompted national mourning and a state funeral. His recordings remain the emotional heart of the Swinging Addis canon.
