The Cardigans

Über The Cardigans

The Cardigans emerged from Jonkoping in the mid-1990s with a sound that wrapped dark lyrics in bright, retro-pop arrangements. Nina Persson's deadpan vocals and the band's love of melody gave them an international hit with Lovefool. Later albums like Gran Turismo pushed toward a colder, rock-leaning sound that revealed real depth beneath the sweetness. They became one of the most respected Swedish bands of their generation and a template for melodic indie-pop.
