Slank
Über Slank
Founded in Jakarta in 1983, Slank built itself in the 1990s into the most beloved rock band in Indonesia, the country's closest equivalent to the Rolling Stones. Their fans, the Slankers, are organised into chapters across every province. The band has released more than twenty studio albums, fronted anti-corruption campaigns, and survived heroin addiction, lineup changes, and the long swings of Indonesian taste without ever leaving the centre of national rock.
