Savage is a New Zealand hip-hop artist of Samoan descent, a member of the pioneering South Auckland crew Deceptikonz on the Dawn Raid label. His solo single Swing became an unlikely global smash after featuring in the film Knocked Up, going platinum in the United States and introducing a mass audience to the Aotearoa hip-hop sound. He remains one of the most commercially successful rappers the country has produced.
