Sadat, also known as Sadat El 3almy, is a founding figure of mahraganat, the electro-shaabi street music born in Cairo's working-class districts around 2010. From the neighborhood of El Salam, he turned cheap software and hard beats into a youth movement that swept Egypt. His raw tracks about street life made him one of the genre's biggest names. Mahraganat became the dominant Egyptian youth sound largely through pioneers like him.
