Formed in Bandung in 2000 as Peterpan, the band led by Ariel sold more than seven million copies of Bintang di Surga in 2004, the best-selling Indonesian album of all time. After Ariel's 2010 imprisonment and the resulting legal battle over the Peterpan name, the group renamed itself Noah in 2012 and returned with Seperti Seharusnya, which sold out stadiums across Southeast Asia. They remain the biggest Indonesian rock band of the post-Slank era.
