Über Niet
Niet were the second wave of Slovenian punk, harder and bleaker than Pankrti. Formed in Ljubljana in 1983 around vocalist Igor Dernovšek, they channeled UK82-era hardcore into Slovene, with lyrics that read like obituaries for a country quietly falling apart. They broke up in 1987, reformed in 2003, and have spent the years since playing the songs that became the soundtrack to a Slovenian generation's disillusionment.
