Na Hoon-a debuted in 1966 and reached peak popularity in the 1970s, often called the Emperor of Trot for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence. His signature songs include the 1972 hit Hometown Station and the 2020 single Tess-hyeong, written after his celebrated comeback concert. He announced his retirement from performing in 2024 after a career of nearly six decades. Few artists shaped the modern sound and showmanship of trot as decisively.
