Über Magnifico

Magnifico is the stage name of Robert Pešut, the Ljubljana singer-songwriter who built a one-man Balkan-pop universe out of irony and accordion. He fuses chanson, brass, gypsy swing, electro, and self-mocking lyrics in Slovene, English, and a deliberately exaggerated pan-Balkan dialect. Best known internationally for "Hir aj kam, hir aj go," used in Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat, he has built a parallel career as a film composer and a beloved live act across the former Yugoslavia.
