Los Saicos were a wild garage rock band from the Lince district of Lima whose raw, snarling records from 1965 to 1966 are now hailed as proto-punk. Their howling anthem Demolición, with its shouted cry to tear down the train station, predated punk by a decade. Rediscovered decades later, they were celebrated internationally as one of the earliest and fiercest rock bands in Latin America.
