Über Los Destellos

Los Destellos, led by guitarist Enrique Delgado, are the pioneers of Peruvian cumbia and the founders of what became chicha. From Lima in the late 1960s, Delgado fused Colombian cumbia with surf and psychedelic guitar, Andean melody, and Cuban rhythms into a wholly new sound. Instrumentals like Constelación and Guajira Sicodélica are cornerstones of the genre and beloved by crate-diggers around the world.
