Hermínia is remembered as a queen of coladeira, a warm, spirited voice from São Vicente who carried the festive side of the classic Cape Verdean songbook. Rooted in the carnival culture of Mindelo, she recorded coladeiras and mornas that became fixtures of island celebrations. Her records remain touchstones of the tradition Cesária Évora made famous.
