Über Fabrizio De André
Fabrizio De André is the towering figure of Italian songwriting, a Genoese poet who gave voice to prostitutes, thieves, and outcasts with rare tenderness and literary depth. Drawing on French chanson, anarchist politics, and Mediterranean folk, he turned the pop song into serious art. His 1984 album Creuza de mä, sung entirely in Genoese dialect, is considered one of the most important records in the history of world music.
