Dino d'Santiago is the boldest of the new Cape Verdean fusionists, folding funaná, morna, and kizomba into electronic and urban pop. Raised in Quarteira, Portugal, by a Cape Verdean family, he sings in Kriolu about identity, migration, and the future of the islands' music. Albums like Mundu Nôbu and Kriolu made him a critical favorite and a bridge between Lisbon's club scene and Cape Verdean tradition.
