Daphne broke through with Calée in 2017 and became the most visible Cameroonian woman in continental pop for a stretch. She writes in French, pidgin and Douala over Afrobeats-adjacent production. Her records tend to be built around a single repeated hook rather than a verse-chorus structure. She has continued releasing steadily since.
