B.B. King was the ambassador of the blues for six decades, playing more than 200 shows a year well into his seventies. His singing vibrato guitar style, named Lucille, influenced Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and generations of guitarists. He won 15 Grammy Awards and took the blues from Memphis juke joints to concert halls worldwide.
